God is a God of missions. He wills missions, commands missions, demands missions, makes missions possible through His Son, and makes missions actual in sending the Holy Spirit. Biblical Christianity and missions are organically interrelated.

Jon & Jenny Gainer Family, Kontaktmission, Ukraine

Jon and Jenny Gainer are missionaries with Kontaktmission. In June 2020, Jon was called to become the Director of Kontaktmission’s Eastern Europe Expansion. After serving as church planters in Kremenchug, Ukraine, for nearly 11 years, it became clear to the Gainers that Eastern Europe is ripe for revival. It also became apparent that as the church grows in strength in Eastern Europe, there is a great opportunity to train church planters to send out to Central Asia to many unreached people groups in closed nations.
Jon graduated from Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, IL, and the Gainers attended First Christian Church in Mt. Pulaski during the years Jon attended LCU. The Gainers have four children: Alex - 16, Jonah -14, Isaac -13, and Lauren - 6. Jon and Jenny have been married since 2001 and are speakers/presenters for United Marriage Encounter Weekends. Jon enjoys playing music in their free time while Jenny sings and bakes. All the Gainer children attended Ukrainian schools and are now working back into American culture and education with homeschooling.
Along with planting two churches in Ukraine, Jon and Jenny’s ministry included evangelism, developing small groups, serving at the local orphanage, Baker’s Club, English Evangelism, leading worship, preaching, and premarital and marriage counseling. With this experience behind them, they could see how the heart of the Ukrainian people is returning to a lost faith that was all but destroyed by the Atheistic Communist Government of the Soviet Union. There is still much to be done, but Ukraine and other Eastern European countries are more open to the Gospel than ever. It is so exciting to have the privilege to be a part of what God is doing in this emerging mission field.
