Big News!

August 11, 2020

Dear Mt. Pulaski Christian Church Family,

This letter is coming much sooner than expected yet couldn’t have come soon enough!  We can’t tell you how excited we are for our local church.  We are about to celebrate the past, present and future.

Many years ago, you had a dream.  You saw an opportunity to reach more people in the local community.  You trusted that it was God’s leading and began the process to build the Family Life Center.  This building has served a purpose of reaching the community through worship services, dinners, memorial services, weddings, 5th quarter events, VBS, and so much more!

Where are we now?  We are DEBT-FREE!  Yes, you read that right! Praise God!

Over the years, our congregation has shown immense generosity, and our leadership has worked hard to make this happen.  Elders and ministers from past and present have worked hard in different ways to keep momentum going.  Our trustees (Dennis Wilham, Mike McCubbin, Greg Maus, the late Tom Stephens, and the late Wally Kautz) as well our finance team (Dennis Wilham, Mike McCubbin, Marla Durst, Susan Horn, the late Tom Stephens, and the late Wally Kautz) worked to cut our mortgage length in less than half.  The original loan was $1.39 million.  It began on March 5, 2008, and the final payment was made on August 10, 2020.  A 30-year loan was paid off in just over 12 years!  We will have a celebration, but we have yet to determine when the best time would be for it.

As we look to the future, our church continues to have monetary needs. We invite you to continue supporting the church’s special projects. These projects include, among others, building and transportation needs. Your continued generosity will help this part of God’s Church fulfill the mission.

The leadership has been working hard to have a vision for what God would have this church look like in the future. Please look forward to continued communication from the leadership. We encourage you to pray along with us in thanking God for His faithfulness and for His blessing and guidance in the years to come.

In Christ,

The Elders (Michael, Myron, Rob, Ryan)

Casey, and Collin

Important Updates

August 5, 2020

MPCC Members and Friends,

As many of you know, we had to move back to online-only church because we had someone in church who tested positive for COVID-19.  We are pleased to know that our safety procedures were successful in that the virus did not spread through our gatherings.

We feel that it is appropriate to gather again.  This Sunday, August 9, we are going to offer both online and in-person worship services.  We will not be offering kids’ programming, Sunday school, or fellowship time. However, entire families are welcome.

Sunday morning schedule:

In person

8 a.m. traditional service in the sanctuary
9 a.m. contemporary service in the sanctuary
10 a.m. contemporary service in the sanctuary

8 a.m. traditional service
9 a.m. kids’ and family service
10 a.m. contemporary service

Each service will be no longer than 40 minutes.  Doors will open 10 minutes before the start of each service.

To give us the best chance of staying open, we have decided to REQUIRE a few safety procedures.

1. Masks are required to enter the building and must be worn until exiting the building.  We will have them at the door if needed.

2. No touching other people.

3. You must sit 6 feet apart or more from other households.

4. If you’re sick or have a temperature, please worship with us online.
